An annual vegetable, sow in spring. Matures in 80 to 100 days. Fruits weight up to 6 lbs, with a pale-green rind that ripens to light gold. The sweet flesh is a luscious lime-green with high sugar content. Requires full sun, watering regularly in loose, fertile draining soil until fruit is developed. Unlike the rough cantaloupe, a honeydew melon is smooth-skinned.
