Plant in a location that will get lots of sun for at least 6 hours a day. Water is as important to a pepper as sun, water once a day or once every 3 days, as long as they are getting at least 1 inch of water a week. Maturing in 3-4 months, they should be bright green when they are ripe. This is when they are at their hottest. Leaving them on will make them more sweet; they will turn black then red. Red peppers are best for drying. These peppers may irritate the skin due to their capsaicin content.
