Plant so the roots are covered, with the crown right at the soil surface. Best with 10 hours of direct sunlight a day. Tolerates different soil types, though prefers loam. Planting site must be well-drained. Raised beds are a particularly good option for strawberries. Do not plant in a site that recently had strawberries, tomatoes, peppers, or eggplant. Eliminate daughter plants as needed. Water about one inch per week. They need a lot of water when the runners and flowers are developing and again in the fall when the plants are mature. Strawberries contain vitamin C, foliate and fiber.
